Yes I've been MIA!

Okay,

So I've been seriously MIA. Not because I wanted to but because life has been insane!

I thought August was going to be a great time to get the ball rolling on this thing here, but of course I had too many things on my plate and some things had to slack off. SORRY!!

I'm giving myself  TWO weeks to get my ish together and you'll start seeing a very active blog in the near future.

I  have some goodies planned, stay tuned!

Peace and Love,

Foundation Reviews

Hey there!

After work today, I headed over to Sephora Times Square to pick up my complimentary one week free sample of Urban Decay's Naked Weightless Skin Ultra Definition Liquid Foundation....that's a mouth full. It just rolled out at Sephora a day or two ago and I was so excited to try it out...

The cool thing about Sephora is they love giving out samples, well at least the stores I go to. While I was waiting for my sample, the amazing young man who helped me told me that Kat Von D also just rolled out a new liquid foundation, Lock It Tattoo Foundation. He added a sample of that to my bag as well as a sample of Illamasqua's Skin Base Foundation.

I was able to play around with all three, as well as my current ultimate favorite MAKE UP FOR EVER's HD Invisible Color Foundation to compare.

Urban Decay's Naked Ultra Definition Foundation was the main one I was extremely excited about and unfortunately that's the one that I'm on the fence about. I don't not like it and I'm not super excited about it.  It's very light, which is a huge plus. I sweat so easy that if I feel any weight from makeup, I'm soaked.  It's oil-free. The foundation is very thin making it an awesome build-able foundation. I really can't stress how light it is, I couldn't feel it at all.  I tried on a few of the colors and that's my main concern with this product. I do love the fact that it's a thin, light, build-able foundation. It kind of reminds me of the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD foundation but I feel that it's not as much coverage as MUFE. A tiny drop of the MUFE foundation covers me up perfectly.

I went over my face twice with the Urban Decay. The first time just wasn't enough coverage and the second time caused my skin to look dry and ashed. I think it's just a color match issue for me. Again I tried on a few of the colors but I might have to blend this one with the next darker color...which sucks but, it IS really light weight. Decisions, decisions...Give it a try yourself, at Sephora, $38. Urban decay Naked Ultra Definition Foundation

After washing my face and prepping my skin I tried on Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation. It's thicker than Urban Decay and MUFE but it doesn't feel real heavy.  It's extremely full coverage but it has a very smooth somewhat matte finish to it.
The salesman said this is a drag queen's dream, it covers EVERYTHING! I agree, it's a true full coverage. I like having one light build-able foundation and one 'heavier' extremely full coverage and Lock It Tattoo is my new extreme full coverage foundation. It's oil free. Long lasting, it supposed to last up to 24 hours. It did not dry out my skin like Urban Decay. The second color I tried was an exact match. It went on smooth. Flawless finish. The foundation is much thicker than Urban Decay and a little bit goes a long way. It's actually good cover up for tattoos (duh the name right, lol) which is awesome because I need to cover mine up from time to time.  I'm actually going to purchase this one tomorrow from Sephora. It's new and it's only 34 bucks! Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation

Lastly, I played with Illamasqua's Skin Base Foundation. It's light weight and it didn't dry out my skin. I was told this was medium coverage but it seems pretty sheer to me. It's a little bit like a tinted moisturizer. People have been saying that it makes your skin look like itself but better... I didn't see any improvement with my skin and for $42, it's not worth it. If you like sheer, check it out. Either head to your nearest Sephora and grab a sample or you can get it here Illamasqua Skin Foundation

So in conclusion,  I'm adding Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation to my collection and I'm restocking my MUFE Invisible HD Foundation. That is my ultimate favorite. It's light but it covers so well. I feel that with  every MAC foundation I buy, it looks like I'm wearing a ton of foundation even if I barely put any on and MUFE is more of a smooth, natural finish to it. It's long lasting and I look AWESOME in pictures with it!

You can find MAKE UP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION at Sephora, $42.

I'm going back to Sephora tomorrow to do some shopping but also get my complimentary VIB makeover, so I will post pictures of the look I decided to go with!

You guys have a great night/morning (it's 12:18am here)! I need some zzzz's so I don't yell at my coworkers tomorrow.

XOXO,
Taliah Rene

Curvy Girl's Dream- ASOS.COM

I'm so excited to post the first edition of Curvy Girl's Dream!!! Once a week I'm going to give a little shout out to some of the most fabulous stores and/or sites that can inspire a curvy girl! So get your checkbook's ready!!

This week's store/site is the one and only:

asos.com is an online fashion and beauty retailer whose fashion is aimed for 16-34 year olds. They target the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia and they ship to over 190 countries. Their central distribution center is in the UK and let me tell you, their free standard shipping to USA (I'm in NYC) usually takes about 4 days from when you order to get to you. They are AWESOME!

They rolled out with the asos curve line ( I believe a year or so ago) and I've been the happiest person in the world since my coworker told me about this site.

ASOS CURVE Party Dress With Rose Skater Skirt,  $68.12...getting this next week!
The clothes are fashionable, oh so cute and varied in price. You can totally find a cute outfit for 25 bucks but you can also find a dress for over 100 bucks too.
Just got this on Tuesday,  ASOS CURVE Wrap Dress With Bow Detail ,  In Lilac, $29.80

What do I love about it?

The variety. There's a little bit of everything here. You don't have to look blah just because you're curvy! I LOVE their accessories and they usually send out awesome discount codes...this week's code is NEW20 (20% off until August 12th). Also, I'm extremely impressed by the speediness of their delivery. Oh and it's FREE STANDARD SHIPPING!

Problems?
Eh, not really a problem. Just for me, at least, the clothes run a little big. See tip below.

Any tips for shopping?
Sign up for their email lists. They have great discount codes. And also check out the inches on the sizing charts before ordering. The curve line runs a little big.

SO ladies if you didn't know about this wonderful site please go to it now! Trust me, you'll love it! And if you did already know, don't you love it? Or am I just crazy??

Happy Shopping!

XOXO,
Taliah Rene

Packing goodies, clothes and things for my mini vacation with the boy...but in what?!

The Boyfriend, or The Boy for short and I are two very busy people. He works in finance and has meetings all day long...has to fly out every now and then and has people calling every second. I'm used to it. It really doesn't bother me. We even joke about how every time he begins to eat his phones goes off. It's pretty funny!

Well, we finally planned our first vacation together. It's mini but much needed, deserved and desired trip to a nice inn at Sandy Hook, NJ.

I have the serious case of 'I'm a girl and I change my mind about what I'm wearing...so I have to pack 3 weeks worth of stuff for a 3 day trip' sickness. I already have my outline of what items are going with me on the trip. I know what dresses, bathing suits, shorts, pants, shirts, accessories, etc...I have everything down. BUT I don't have a suitcase!

I know you're thinking, what?! How do you not have one?? During my move my old suitcase broke and I just never got around to getting a new one.

Well I have one day to get one.

I'm really into animal prints, but never seem to actually wear them. This set is tempting...

Ricardo Luggage, Savannah Spinners $159.99, Macy's
But I'm pretty the boy would have an attack if he knew I spent 160 bucks on a suitcase!

So if any of you lovely people have any advice for a nice, inexpensive, reliable suitcase LET ME KNOW! We have a little less than 24 hours to do this!

XOXO,
Taliah Rene
